Regulatory Policy

The McLaughlin Centre works collaboratively with policy makers to insure health risk management and prevention. The Health Policy Approaches to Children’s Environmental Health project aims to develop recommendations for the revision and implementation of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and the proposed Canada Health Protection Act in order to safeguard and protect children from the health impacts of environmental hazards.  The project on The Role of a General Safety Requirement in Canada’s Health Protection Regime aims at assisting policymakers at Health Canada to assess the applicability of a General Safety Requirement (GSR) in the context of proposed reforms to Canada's Health Protection Regime.
