PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center for Population Health Risk Assessment

The McLaughlin Centre is proud to be a designated Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Population Health Risk Assessment. The Centre is designated for a four year period commencing June 2005 to June 2009.  As a Collaborating Center, the McLaughlin Centre is part of an inter-institutional collaborative network organized by the WHO at the country, intercountry, regional, interregional and global levels.  The Centre is mandated to participate in strengthening Canada’s information, services, and research and training resources in order to continuously develop national health in addition to contributing to global health development. The role of a PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center is to promote health research and development and define the scientific and technical bases for health programs.

The scientific director for the Center is Dr. Daniel Krewski.
